I love the Rainy Nights!!

My favorite family married off their second daughter this past weekend at the Dallas Arboretum.
When Suzanne emailed me and said we have another wedding!!! I knew immediately that it had to be different then Betsy's wedding but still reflect the elegance and class that both girls have.
I think we were able to achieve totally different looks. First because we were working with two different seasons and second completely different venues.

This is the room right before I left. Every candle lit, every napkin in place, the pillows perfect, the chairs were perfect. the lights were perfect!Exactly how I wanted it. The only exception; I hear the rain!!! We did not want it to rain until after cocktail hour. God had other plans :).

One of my favorite things was the very simple leather loungers we placed on either side of the dance. These loungers were framed with beautiful peacock blue linens on high tables and even the little floral bouquets had feathers!! The lighting ALWAYS make a difference!!! No matter how unimportant you may think it is. YOU'RE WRONG It makes all the difference in the world. One of our signature touches is the floating cake base. And no one tops are base better then Fancy Cakes by Lauren!! Her cakes smell and taste as good as they look! Glamorous head table. Gilded urns, twig stands, clusters of pears and hundreds of gilded votive candles and iron candles. We may have got in trouble for all the candles but I didn't care!
The linens were plum lamour and the napkins were citron lamour. Two contrasting colors that look amazing with the bright fall colors.
I sent a text to the mother of the bride as I was walking out the door that evening.
It's the most gorgeous wedding!!!!!
She said she cried when she read it.
Best wishes to the beautiful Walsh Girl's and their wonderful parents who put up with all of my "what if we did"!!!
It was WORTH IT!!!

NACE, Think Pink!! Table Design

The Wildflower was so honored to have been
asked by AACWP,to help design their table for the NACE, Think Pink! Susan G. Komen Cure.
The inspiration came from Sarah and Trudy of Lagniappe Weddings. Who's Aunt is a breast cancer survivor.
The story below inspired the tables.
With the help from“In fairy tales, a fairy godmother is a fairy with magical powers who acts as a mentor or parent to someone, in the role that an actual godparent was expected to play in many societies.” To create the fantasy setting where our Fairy Godmother could celebrate with her team of doctors, who helped ward off the ugly stepmother (breast cancer), we wanted to showcase the style of the hostess with her favorite colors and holiday theme – Halloween. The fairytale table is a charming display showing appreciation to her guardian angels or quite possibly her fairy god-doctors…Bippity-boppity-boo!
Everyone who attended the party got to vote and our table
Won for the award of People's Choice.
We were BEYOND thrilled!

PURPLE CRUSH

Hayley Rush, loved every part of planning her wedding
and in turn everyone involved in the wedding also loved every part of planning her wedding.
She was a "BRIDE TO BE" who always looked beautiful, always organized, always on time, well informed, she was gracious, she was thoughtful, she was funny and charming.
She was certain of what she wanted and certain of what she didn't.
I had a lot to prove.
OK, you see this plum ribbon on the bouquets? THE HARDEST RIBBON EVER TO FIND. We finally found it in NYC, 4" wide plum double faced satin ribbon (Vogue Ribbon).
You wanna know the price??
Email me :)
The lush bouquet was a mix of summer flowers and rich colors. Deep plum mini calla, hydrangea, scabiosa, stock, veronica, bush berry, orchids, lisanthus, freesia, hypericum berry.
The little flower girl purses with a touch of floral.
The mother of the bride found these.
I was a little concerned about these massive
floral pieces. But they stood strong!
Sweet couple.
STUNNING
floral N, with big purple satin bow (same ribbon).
Awwww...
Beautiful moss frame with
gorgeous lighting and candle light.

PERFECT!
A little bling

The lounge furniture looked especially cool on the rugged wood floors.

cool picture of the candles.
Anytime you do candles do them in repetition; clustered together. They may look weird in person but in photographers amazing.
Candles and petals in the water fountain.
I like the way some of them look blown out.
really lovely picture.
I just really liked this picture of a beautfil linen.
No bands or twist or turns.
Just simple and pretty.

Liza, the Lady in RED!!!

Liza, Liza Liza!!!
Everyone LOVED LIZA, (including Liza, hehe).
Liza wanted
RED
I think we nailed it.
This cake table OMG! Was more stunning in person.
The linen on the cake table was a deep red with a gold Asian cherry blossom detail. La Duni made a beautiful tres leches cake, which is a warm gold color and floated on a hundred velvety black magic rose, red coxcomb, hydrangea and dahlias.
______________________________
The Escort table had another beautiful red linen with a golden dragon design. White rice covered the table where we placed the escort cards.
Great idea huh? A view of the room through the red satin drapes. AHHH, stunning!
Lite Dallas, provided these very cool gobo's on the wall.
No monogram just cool lighting detail.
I loved it!
The head table for the wedding party had a repetition of gold urns and rich red bouquets and clusters of candles. Each place setting had a the party favor; a pair of red lacquer chop sticks placed on the menu cards. Modern black lounge furniture placed around the dance floor and by photo booth. Red and gold pillows complimented the look.

Hard Work at The Cotton Mill but turned out Sweet!!

Nothing prettier then our natural moss frame with
beautiful candle light, chiffon drapes and soft up lights. we hung satin ribbon streamers and crystals over the courtyard. Guest could have a custom cigar rolled and enjoy the beautiful evening. The Martini Bar, Lounge and Photo Booth Area. Sleek white leather loungers placed on a zebra rug with cool long mirror tables and coordinating pillows. The rustic building looks amazing with all the modern furniture and sunlight shining through.
White High Gloss Dance Floor!!
Long bar tables were placed along the length of the back,
which gave us lots of extra seating and looked very cool!!
Purple and white paper lanterns!
William Ryan did a beautiful job with all the lighting.

Not just another pink wedding...

A beautiful couple tied the knot at the beautiful Oak Lawn United Methodist Church
and held their reception at the beautiful Arlington Hall at Lee Park.

Each wedding is so tailored to the bride. The chair covers and sash's are unexpected at Arlington Hall but fit the look perfectly.

The brides request; romantic, earthy, elegant and natural.

The lush magnolia garland with white hydrangea was simply draped over the banister. The centerpieces were a mix of natutal and posh. The large pieces of garden elements like fresh moss, branches, twigs and fresh green pears and the formal pieces in silver urns with a lush floral bouquet of peony, hydrangea, garden roses and orchids. An Organized Event!!

I had to get a post in about this amazing wedding we did this past weekend.
Saturday, The Fourth of July
at
Gaylord Texan Resort in Grapevine.
These are just a few of my snapshots.
The real pictures are coming soon.
Mrs. Shanna Marko of, The Organized Event pulled a team together for this very large event in record time.
Shanna is one of those wedding coordinator's
who gets more with honey then vinegar.
You know what I mean? She is so sweet and charming she has staff moving tables and chandeliers with just a few words like "can we try this" which means move this over here. Pretty, pretty cake that was actually pretty hard to do.

Petals look like they would be easy but not so much!!

Tristan Jumper, Meredith and Mo the team at the Gaylord
were not only their from sunrise to sunset but handled all of their staff, the other weddings and events at the Gaylord and us (ME) vendors and our diva demands.
Thank you, Thank you!!
These lush floral pieces stood ten feet tall on the tables and were
dripping with crystal strands and beautiful candle light.
The floral bouquets of hydrangea, pale pink peony, garden rose, orchids, lilac and lily and tulips all in barely shades of
butter, pinks, cream and lavenders.
The fragrance in the room was enchanting.
The beautiful lighting was LUMEN, Randal Stout.
We wish everyone could realize how important lighting is before the wedding. Right Randal??

Love Birds...

A whimsical, garden wedding was the dream of a lovely little bride with exquisite taste and great attention to detail!!!
The lush bridal bouquet was blooming with fragrant lilac, garden roses, fluffy hydrangea, sweet peony,
pearl studded stephanotis and antique gardenias
with a subtle touch of pale pink feathers.
An enchanting entrance table created with fresh moss and lush floral bouquets greeted the arriving guest. Little stone snails and fresh moss spheres were nestled between the bird cages and lush greenery. Three gilded bird cages and custom signs which read Past, Present, Future. A memory from our past, A thought for today, A wish for the future. The guest wrote on charming little bird shape note cards. The music stand, was one of the many treasures the mother of bride collected for the wedding. We added a pretty little sign.
The ring bearer carried a little nest of twigs and fresh moss and a tiny brown love bird cozied up inside.
Stunning Feather Heels!!
Beautiful evening as the bride and her maids are going to the Chapel!! (actually the other garden)
Garden stakes and champagne pink kissing balls decorated the aisle.
Feather hair piece.
Just how we imagined.
The napkins were placed in silver napkin rings. Silver love birds for the ladies and silver snails for the gentlemen.
This was one of several favors the guest received.
The tables were full and lush with gorgeous floral bouquets and silver lanterns, fresh moss spheres, candles, candles, candles and little gilded vases with tiny floral bouquets. Personal touches like antique frames with pictures of the bride and groom were placed around all the tables.
We finished!! Ahhh what a relief.
With the time constraints at the Arboretum
we had about an hour and a half.
What an efficient and organized team we have!
Little twig nest were placed at the top of the gorgeous floral pieces.
Other details in the floral include monkey tails,
rosemary, peonies, feathers, hydrangea, moss, variegated greenery, stock, berries and French tulips.
Golden birdies placed inside and little gilded nest and perched high on top of the GORGEOUS wedding cake!!
Fancy Cakes by Lauren did an amazing job.
Six custom napkins :)
Birds of a Feather, Love Birds, Marry me Mojitos,
Pucker-up, A scoop of Love and He popped the Question!

A Blessed Union Bride is not only a beautiful bride she is also a bride who knows the sanctity of marriage.
Morgan and Coby were in it together from the beginning.
This beautiful couple came hand in hand to every appointment and enjoyed every appointment.
How glamorous do they look?
VERY!!!

Garden Chic

OOOOOOOOOOOOOH! I love this wedding!!!
Romantic, enchanting, modern, "gardeny", elegant, chic, feminine.
Hmm, let me see if I can think of anymore words that describe my feelings about this wedding...
STUNNING!!
The super chic springtime cake created by the Adolphus is wrapped with vines of spring cherry blossoms and fallen pale pink rose petals and was sitting on tangled cherry blossom branches and fallen petals. The classic tables were mixed with sleek lounge furniture, high top bar tables framing the dance floor and classic ballroom chairs.
Lighting, lighting, lighting!!! This room is nothing without great lighting by Switch.
The floral was minimal but significant. Detail spotlights all the towering vases and branches and a graphic light of vines covered the entire room ( see dance floor above).
Lounge furniture made the classic ballroom social and inviting, informal but very formal. If you know what I mean.
Champagne pink linens, blush up-lighting, contrast with black ballroom chairs.

Choosing your color...

Black and White
Ice Blue
Berry Pink
Red Hot
Soft Autumn
Vintage Pink
COLORS, colors, CoLoRs are the most challenging part my job. The first thing I have to do is figure out how you see color. Since we all see colors different I need to understand how you see colors. Do you see blues as lavenders or pinks may look purple or greens, yellow. Once that's established then we can move onto design but that will be for another day.
